As parents will know only too well, kids can outgrow six shoe sizes in just one year. So childrenswear platform Bundlee has come up with a sustainable fashion solution to the problem: an addition to its rental service, partnering with footwear specialist Vivobarefoot.
Having started a rental service as an alternative to buying baby and toddler’s clothes Bundlee has added footwear to its “seamless rental subscription service that saves new parents time and money”.
The retailer points to research that shows the average young child needs new shoes every four months, “a rapid and costly replacement cycle that sees Britons buying 80 million pairs of kid’s shoes a year… most of which end up in landfills”.
Bundlee founder Eve Kekeh said: “Shoes are often the most expensive and rapidly outgrown product you can buy for a toddler, which is why I always wanted to introduce shoes to our rental platform.
“Bundlee’s community is growing exponentially, so it felt like a great time to launch this new category, and with Vivobarefoot’s commitment to circularity and care for children’s feet, felt like the perfect partner”.
Any shoes no longer suitable for rental on Bundlee, will be returned to Vivobarefoot’s resale platform, ReVivo, to be repaired and resold.

In addition to Vivobarefoot shoes, customers can rent from sustainable brands including Patagonia, Mori, Little Riley Studio, Mini Rodini and Bundlee Originals.
Rental subscription starts at £39 per month for a wardrobe of clothes (15 pieces). "Parents can expect to save over £700 on their baby clothing bill at the end of a 12-month cycle, in addition to having the benefit of a revolving wardrobe for your baby, and no need to go to the shops”, Bundlee noted.
