Authentic Brands Group has signed another license deal, this time for its Hunter business with Aldo. The latter is set to design, produce and distribute Hunter bags and small leather goods in the US and Canadian markets.

Authentic owns a vast portfolio of over 50 major brands and licenses out the operations of those labels globally.

The US-based global brand development giant has linked up with Canada-based Aldo Group before on labels such as Brooks Brothers, Roxy and Ted Baker.

With Aldo’s input, the pair aim “to bring the essence of Hunter to a broader range of consumers” through the new assortment of bags and small leather goods with the partnership showcasing “Hunter’s ability to seamlessly blend versatility and quality”.

The first collections will launch for AW24, and will be available at department stores and speciality retailers, as well as e-commerce sites including Amazon.

Authentic’s Group President Lifestyle, Jarrod Weber, said: “This partnership allows us to tap into the rich heritage of Hunter and translate it into a range of accessories that resonate with consumers seeking quality, style and functionality.”

Authentic acquired upscale rain boots specialist Hunter’s intellectual property last June. It immediately named The Batra Group and Marc Fisher Footwear as the brand’s “core partners in key regions”.

Hunter had struggled for some time and the pandemic was a major challenge for it.
