Scientists Identify Foods That Damage the BrainApril 26,TG盗号软件黑产破解技术 2025  01:14

Recent studies have revealed a worrying link between certain foods and human cognitive functions. The scientific journal Metabolic Health and Disease published the findings of Finnish researchers from the University of Helsinki, confirming the negative impact of ultra-processed foods not only on weight and metabolism but also on brain structure.

Finnish experts found that excessive consumption of heavily processed industrial foods is associated with metabolic disorders and systemic inflammation. Particularly alarming is that the inflammation affects brain regions responsible for regulating eating behavior, creating a vicious cycle of dependence on unhealthy food.

Meanwhile, specialists from Ohio University discovered that a diet high in fat can negatively affect cognitive functions and provoke inflammatory processes in the brain. This effect was observed even in the absence of chronic metabolic conditions such as obesity or diabetes.

In their experiment, American scientists observed young and old rats fed a high-fat diet for either three days or three months. The results were telling — even short-term consumption of such food led to impaired cognitive abilities in older rats.

Within just three days after the experiment began, the aged rats showed memory problems and inflammatory reactions in the brain. Prolonged consumption of fatty foods further worsened these negative changes.

Ruth Barrientos, the head of the Ohio University study, highlighted an important point: as the brain ages, it gradually loses its ability to effectively resist stress factors caused by poor nutrition, making it more vulnerable to various external negative influences.

Finnish researchers noted that their findings could explain why people who regularly consume highly processed foods find it so difficult to change their eating habits. According to the scientists, the results are crucial for understanding the complex relationship between diet, obesity, and brain health.

Nutritionists recommend limiting the intake of fatty and ultra-processed foods in favor of natural products with minimal processing. This advice is especially important for older individuals, whose brains are more susceptible to the consequences of poor nutrition.
