A matter of weeks after changing its corporate name to reflect a greater fashion focus, Birmingham, Alabama-based sportswear retailer Hibbett has announced the opening of two new locations in North and South Carolina.

The first of the openings is a Hibbett Sports store, located in Garner, North Carolina. Spread over more than 4,200 square feet, the boutique-style location features an open concept and will stock brands including Nike, Jordan, Adidas, Puma, Mitchell & Ness.

As well as a number of mannequins displaying stylist curated looks that aim to inspire customers, the store features a range of amenities, including phone charging stations for shoppers. The location also offers various flexible shopping and payment options, choices that have become particularly important during the Covid-19 pandemic.

Along with services such as Buy Online Pick Up In Store, Reserve Online Pick Up In Store, Curbside Pick Up and Ship to Store, shoppers can benefit from Klarna split payment options, a dedicated Hibbett mobile app, text communication updates and the Hibbett Rewards loyalty program.

Hibbett also announced that it is opening a new City Gear store in Beaufort, South Carolina, at 330 Robert Smalls Parkway, in the Cross Creek Plaza. The over-4,600-square-foot store will carry footwear from the likes of Nike and Jordan and will also offer special Retro Jordan re-launches. Available apparel brands will include Billion Dollar Baby, New Era, Grindhouse and Born Fly.

Seeking to create a fashionable urban vibe, the store is decorated with brand imagery and trending fashion photography, and features a premium sound system and 55” screens that will play current music videos.

Similarly to the new Hibbett Sports location, the store will offer shopping options including Buy Online Pick Up In Store and Reserve Online Pick Up In Store.

Both the Garner Hibbett Sports location and the Beaufort City Gear store will host grand opening events on July 10.

Hibbett, which operates more than 1,000 U.S. stores under the Hibbett Sports and City Gear banners, reported $1.42 billion in sales in 2025, up 19.9% from the previous year, while the company’s annual net income totaled $74.3 million, or $4.36 per diluted share.
