British men’s shoemaker Lanx had moved into the women’s market with the three-year-old Lancashire-based company saying that it has seen a growing audience of female followers.

The new women's products actually have a gender-neutral look and include Harwood Loafers at £155, Dinckley toe-cap boots at £190 and Langho brogue boots at £185. The regular designs have simply been tweaked to fit women’s feet.

Founder Marv Vaghetti told the Lancashire Telegraph: “When we started out we built our initial collections for men as this is where our primary expertise and experience lay. As we’ve developed our brand and carved out a space in the men’s footwear market, we’ve attracted an incredible following from women. They wanted to wear our existing styles but the size offering was an issue.”

The company uses a mix of traditional and modern shoemaking techniques and also mixes materials with leathers being joined by tweeds and other fabrics.

The 21 styles of shoes and boots will be sold through the company’s webstore and via pop-ups and festivals around the UK. Its men’s line is also available through a number of third-party menswear stockists.
