Last month, Louis Vuitton launched hyper-kitsch bags from Jeff Koons starring images of Renaissance and classical paintings by the likes of Da Vinci, Fragonard, Van Gogh and Titian. Moncler, on the other hand, employs Delhomme’s blotchy contemporary imagery from the beach in sand, bright blue and faded white on a selection of jerkins, T-shirts and tote bags. Using digital printing to impart a 3D look to the clothes.

Based in Paris, Delhomme is an illustrator, painter and cultural writer, whose works have appeared in magazines too numerous to mention. In France, he has painted a mural for famed Parisian club Castel; exhibited in Colette, and been a guest star at the  International Fashion and Photography Festival of Hyères. Internationally, he has been displayed in Lucien Terras Gallery in New York, Rocket Gallery in Tokyo, and the French Institute in Berlin and in Munich.

Launched back in the 1990s, Delhomme’s long-running series of ads for Barney’s department store which featured gouache illustrations captioned with comical text is still regarded as one of the most iconic advertising campaigns in modern American history.
