It was in 1999 that Alexa Adams and Flora Gill met when both were attending Parson's School of Design in New York. The designers bonded over shared influences, and launched fashion label Ohne Titel together in 2007.
Adams and Gill, who worked for Helmut Lang (Adams) and Karl Lagerfeld (both), designed clothes for a "confident, modern woman." But after nine years, Ohne Titel is now closing down.
The designers stated: "We have had an amazing 9 years creating and growing Ohne Titel. We've worked and collaborated with incredible partners like Ikram Goldman, Caroline Issa, Alastair McKim, Giovanna Battaglia, and many others. As we look into the changes happening in how fashion communicates and sells clothing, we have decided to close our label to focus on new projects."
Ohne Titel received the Ecco Domani Fashion Foundation Award for womenswear in 2009 and was a finalist in the 2009 and 2011 CFDA /Vogue Fashion Fund Awards. The label was also nominated for the 2009 Swiss Textiles Award.
