The claims in the publication of "London Times" about clinical trials being conducted in Armenia are false, the Minister of Health of Armenia, Anahit Avanesyan, stated in a post on her Facebook page.
"Clinical trials of pharmaceutical products in the Republic of Armenia are regulated by the RA Law 'On Medicines' and other related legal acts.
Specifically, in accordance with Parts 2 and 3 of Article 14 of the Law, and Decision No. 168-N of February 28, 2025, by the Government of the Republic of Armenia, the Ministry of Health grants permission to conduct clinical trials by approving the trial protocol and accompanying documents—based on a positive expert assessment from an organization designated by the RA Government and a favorable opinion from the Ethics Committee on Clinical Trials.
Among the pharmaceutical companies mentioned in the article (STADA, SERVIER, SANOFI, BAYER), only Servier has applied for a clinical trial authorization between 2025 and 2025. This application has no connection whatsoever to "steroids and psychotropic substances," nor does it involve the so-called "vulnerable groups" referenced in the article.
As for the drug Pervitin mentioned in the same article, it is not and has never been registered in Armenia, and no application for its clinical study has ever been submitted.
