Outdoor specialist brand Craghoppers has opened its first flagship store on Edinburgh’s prestigious George Street offering “kit and inspiration for everything from weekend hikes to camping staycations”.
It features a range of “innovative and technical clothing & accessories” across menswear, womenswear and childrenswear.
Sustainability is at the heart of the brand, with 70% of Craghoppers' products made from recycled materials, its signature technologies including NosiLife anti insect technology, SolarShield sun protection and AquaDry waterproof and breathable technology. The sustainability ethos is also carried over into the store's design, using reclaimed wood for fixtures, while adding locally-sourced plants to the mix, “reducing carbon footprint where possible”.
To celebrate World Oceans Day on 8 June, Craghoppers has also worked with local artist Katie Chappell on a bespoke painted window, spotlighting the work of partner Galapagos Conservation Trust on protecting the oceans and its inhabitants.
“Craghoppers already enjoy a strong online customer base from Edinburgh and surrounding areas and we felt this location would resonate well with both existing and new customers”, said Retail MD Joanne Black.
“We have also created a community space for local businesses and activity centres to inform and inspire… We hope that this will encourage likeminded people to meet up and get inspired to explore the local outdoor spaces”.
