What would you imagine on coming across a poster entitled ‘The Maniac’? Maybe the theatre or the audience misses an adrenaline? That is quite possible. But before imagining anything else, it is better to read who the author of the performance is: Genna Slutski (Gayane Hovhannisyan, daughter of a famous director Henrikh Hovhannisyan). She is an expert of human souls, hence, the performance conceals quite a deep context.
The scenario is very simple and twisted at the same time. It is based on a tragic-comedy of the life of a celebrity director, his wife, who is a young but a very successful playwright and the latter’s lover, who is a bit insane. They are living a very calm and happy life, until one day the crazy lover breaks into their life. The actors succeeded in playing their roles very subtly and deeply.
