Eyewear giant Marcolin and fashion brand Diesel issued a short statement on Monday bringing the curtain down on their decade-long eyewear deal.

The two companies said that they’ve “announced the termination of the license agreement for the design, manufacturing, and global distribution of Diesel sunglasses and optical frames.
They added that “after a successful 10-year partnership, the two groups have mutually agreed to end their agreement on June 30”.
No explanation was given for the move and we don’t know which eyewear specialist is now going to be handling the Diesel portfolio.
However, DSquared, another of the brands — like Diesel — in the OTB portfolio, also ended its long-term eyewear deal with Marcolin this year and moved to Safilo.
Marcolin, meanwhile, still has a massive portfolio of fashion brands for which it has licenses. These include Tom Ford, Guess, Adidas Sport, adidas Originals, Bally, Moncler, Max Mara, Sportmax, Ermenegildo Zegna, Tod's, Emilio Pucci, Swarovski, and more.
The company operates both through its own stores and wholesale partners in more than 125 countries.
