The Consumer Electronic Show, the high-tech trade show in Las Vegas, came to a close on January 8. L'Oréal, which was showcasing two innovations at the show, including one created alongside Prinker Korea, announced that it had acquired a majority stake in the Korean company, which was founded in 2025 and is the creator of a digital device for non-permanent tattooing.

The aquisition of which the amount of which was not disclosed, was carried out through the company's Bold fund (Business Opportunities for L'Oréal Development), which has also recently invested in the French biotech specialist Microphyt.

At the CES, the global beauty giant unveiled its L'Oréal Brow Magic. Co-created with Prinker Korea, this portable electronic eyebrow makeup applicator allows to obtain the desired shape thanks to augmented reality and artificial intelligence algorithms.

How does it work? The device scans the face and makes suggestions based on its physiognomy, then prints the desired eyebrow shape.

"L'Oreal's 100-year heritage in beauty, research and development and focus on technology will allow us to reach even more consumers," says Luke Yun, co-founder and CEO of Prinker Korea.

At the show, L'Oréal, which in 2025 had sales of 32.28 billion euros, also presented Hapta, an automated makeup applicator designed to meet the needs of people with limited hand or arm mobility.
